What is the Sargasso Sea?

The Sargasso Sea is the world’s only sea that does not touch land at any point. All other seas touch land at some point, but the edges of the Sargasso Sea are defined only by currents. The patch of ocean is named for the Sargassum seaweed that grows there and is both food source and habitat for many species.
