Growing to approximately 32 feet (9.8 m) and 17,000 pounds (7,500 kg), the Northern Bottlenose Whale is the largest of all the beaked whales. Living in the waters of the North Atlantic Ocean, the northern bottlenose whale was extensively slaughtered for the spermaceti (waxy substance) in their head that is used for cosmetics.
