Why did the otter bite the turtle?

Because otters are natural predators of turtles, terrapins, and tortoises.

It can be mean being green! Turtles, terrapins, and tortoises face a wide variety of enemies every day, especially in the suburbs where dogs, raccoons, and other mammals can be found. Cooks and crocs also hurt turtles, as do otters, crabs, and other sea life.  In some parts of the world the biggest killer of turtles isn’t other animals, but humans eating them.
